Pet Emergency Care in San Diego

Our Pet Vets knows the urgency of a loving pet owner who wants to get help for their furry family member. Pet Urgent and Emergency Care

What Is a Pet Emergency?

An animal emergency is any time your pet needs immediate medical attention and you are unable to contact your regular veterinarian. If your pet is displaying any of the following symptoms, call us immediately or bring it in for treatment:

  • Choking or difficulty breathing
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Blood in vomit or stool
  • Inability to urinate or defecate
  • Ingestion of a poisonous substance
  • Severe trauma, such as being hit by a car
  • Seizures
  • Sudden collapse
  • Unconsciousness

If you are unsure whether or not your pet's condition is an emergency, please err on the side of caution and give us a call. We would rather you bring in a pet that turns out not to need emergency care than wait too long to get help for a serious condition.

What Is Pet Urgent Care?

Pet urgent care is similar to emergency care in that it is for when your pet needs immediate medical attention, but the difference is that in an urgent care situation, you may be able to wait for a same-day appointment with a vet. If your animal is displaying serious symptoms, call us and we will do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible.

We Offer Emergency Services

Our top priority is always the health and well-being of your pet, but we also understand that as a pet owner, you may feel just as anxious and stressed as your animal companion. We will do everything we can to put you at ease and keep you informed throughout the treatment process. We also offer diagnostic tools that help your pet get the most accurate diagnosis possible. These tools include:

  • Digital x-rays
  • In-house laboratory services
  • Endoscopy
  • Ultrasound
  • ECG
  • Blood pressure monitoring

When a vet has access to these types of tools, you can get the answers you need to make good choices for your pet's health.
